Currently, Kasper is working on a project focused on the Arab invasion in north Africa during the 7th and 8th centuries CE. In this project, he retraces the path taken by the Arabs as they colonised the Berber lands, documenting the enduring cultural shifts and legacies that have shaped the region. By building meaningful relationships with local communities along the way, Kasper seeks to con- front and gain a deeper understanding of the historical and contemporary implications of this oppressive period in Berber history. He returns to the same neighbourhoods repeatedly, allowing him to establish lasting relationships and a more intimate connection with the people and their stories. His work offers a nuanced perspective on the intersection of history, identity, and memory, reflecting on the consequences of this historical moment in the context of the 21st century.
